Review by PAULEEN SMITH

Dieselkopf's self-titled album is a unique blend of electronic and industrial music that is sure to captivate listeners. From the opening track, "Pulse," the album sets a dark and intense tone that persists throughout its entirety. The use of distorted vocals and heavy basslines create an ominous atmosphere that is both unsettling and engaging.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Cybernetic," which features a driving beat and an infectious melody that will have listeners moving along. The use of synth and guitar riffs adds a layer of complexity to the track that showcases the band's musical prowess.

Another highlight of the album is "Mechanical Heart," which features haunting vocals that perfectly complement the eerie instrumental backing. The track builds to a crescendo before dropping into a groovy breakdown that is sure to get heads nodding.

About Dieselkopf

Dieselkopf was initially a bit of a joke, since Ronny Rasmusson played in a band called Twang, and was just so fed up with being turned down by the local press in Gävle, Sweden. So, just for fun, he made a piece of computer music and sent it to the local media. Suddenly it was regarded as the best demo of the year, by a local music critic. In the attached letter he wrote that this demo was from a local band that had just started. He tried to make up the absolutely most silly German name he could think of Dieselkopf. This all happened in 1993, and a few years passed by with work and more recordings with Twang. After the break up with Twang, Ronny felt like starting over with something new and different. Ronny's friend Ola Lindström went for the idea and he contacted Peter Carlfors who became the bands singer. So the official start of Dieselkopf as a real band was 1996. They released an album and then Dieselkopf had a break for about 8 years. Now they are started up again with this new lineup: Ronny Rasmusson (RaZZ): Guitar, keyboards, producing, mixing, performance, lyrics and manager. Pierre Knutsson: Singer and lyrics. David Lindquist: Drums. Kristian Smedlund: Evilbass.
